__Definition :-__**Fraction ** means a part of a group or a region. **A Fraction** is written in the form of **p/q; where both p and q are natural numbers & where q is not equal to zero.**

here;

p = numerator

q = denominator
**e.g.** 2/3, 100/342, 4/3, 2/100, 3 ^{3}/_{2}, 4/9, 6/9....etc

In other words, fraction has two parts:

Number above the division line is known as numerator

Number below the division line is known as denominator

Numerator represents ** "How many of the parts are taken". **

Denominator represents ** "Into how many equal parts the whole part is divided". **
